A “Web MD” of Education

Teach Like a Doctor is a forthcoming (2025) book by Rohen Shah, who is a Co-Founder of DiagKNOWstics Learning and doctoral candidate specializing in Behavioral Economics at the University of Chicago. The book describes a detailed analogy between the fields of medicine and education, borrowing terminology and structure of medical sciences to describe the psychology of various student misconceptions, particularly in mathematics.

This is a “Web MD” style wiki of all the Learning Challenges (educational “diseases”) that we are developing. The main purpose of this wiki is to help both educators and students be systematic in how they learn (and teach!). Our goal is to empower humans with knowledge of learning misconceptions — the same way the medical community has empowered us with knowledge of medical diseases and treatments.

Knowing the root cause of a misconception makes it that much easier to overcome that learning challenge. This is an ever-evolving science, and we welcome your input — please email contact@diagknowstics.com if you have any suggestions for newer Learning Challenges, or improvements/issues for the pages of existing ones. You may also directly email Rohen at rohen@diagknowstics.com.  Enjoy!
